Hi there!!

Iam back after a long gap!!

lot of things have been happening which kept me away from the blogworld. But now, i want to constantly post blogs.

Lot of things to write, lot of new experience :D

Hell lot of roller coaster ride for some time…..will update everything pretty soon…..

wondering what iam going to blog with such a heading ….hmmm…..

Well….this is how my morning alarm goes and i finally wake up at 8:00, hehe :-)

My first alarm is at 7:15 am and i snooze it, so it again goes at 7:20 am and then again at 7:30 and i finally get up at 8:00 am with lot of difficulty!! :-)

I always think and decide in the night that i should get up early in the morning the next day and get ready to work in a relaxing manner, however i always end up in getting up late and run around to get ready to work and run to catch the bart.

I have great difficulty getting up early in the morning…no matter how early i sleep! so many things i can do if i wake up early in the morning. First of all is, i can eat breakfast at home, since i get ready to work in a hurry i usually pack my breakfast to work and eat it at work. Secondly, i can cook something in the morning, now i prepare my next day lunch along with the dinner and put it in fridge, so waking up early i can cook the lunch which is healthy too.

Walking up early, i get good time to get ready to work instead of running around and running to catch the bart.  Most important is, winter is on its way and it becomes dark around 6:30 in the evening. so if i go early to work and i can come back early to home and not suffer in the winter night. Winter in SFO is very bad, its windy and very cold.

knowing about all these, i still dont get up early :-) . I decide before i go to bed that i should get up at 7:15. But when the alarm goes..i always snooze it and when i wake up late, i curse myself for getting up so late….so funny huh!!

But you know, when i have some important deliverable or some important sign off’s going on at work, i make sure that iam in the office around 8:00 AM and there are days when i have reached work at 7:30 AM. I always wonder, how am I able to get up so early when i some important task and laze around when everything is normal. So the bottomline is, i can get up early IF I WANT!!

I know it is all in my hands!! but just wondering how can i get over this issue and make my morning a pleasant one w/o the usual running around. okies….let me try from tommorrow morning for making it happen!!

It was Vijayadasami yesterday and we decided to go to the livermore temple. I came back from work and quickly got ready to go to the temple. My husband’s friend also accompanied us. As soon as i entered i was so surprized to see the crowd there.

We entered the temple and everything was very beutifully decorated. There was a bharatnatyam performance by a little girl. It was really to watch the performance.

After that we went to the Durga pooja (as my husband’s frnd was a bengali, he was interested in attending the pooja. We went to the place where they were doing durga pooja. This is the first time iam attending a durga pooja. Wow, it was really nice and i could see married women carrying sindhoor and sweets in their hands and making sindhoor for other married women. I really liked the way they were doing. My husband was asking me to do for the other ladies but i was feeling very shy.

Then suddenly an auntie came and asked if i was married and made sindhoor for me.. i was so happy :-) , then she gave me some sweets and went off.

Then we came out of the pooja hall and had some prasadh. THen another lady came over to me and made sindhoor for me and asked me to do it for her….it was so nice of her :-)

So many ppl arnd and small kids wearing pattu pavadai n running around…made me feel like India.I really loved being in the temple yesterday.

So after all this we headed to the car parking and my husband wanted buy some laddoo. The ladoos in this temple is as good as thirupathi laddoo. He went in and got a ladoo and asked us if we can help them packing other ladoos.

I said yes, ofcourse, so we went in, packed the ladoos in ziplock and locked the ziplock. My job was to lock the ziplock cover. so with 4 of us doing this task, we completed in less than 30 minutes and happily headed towards our home.

Wow, what a day it was!! I was happy being there!!

okie….iam signing off now….have a nice weekend!!

Bizare Dream!!

Last night when i slept….i was fine and i had watched the debate results in CNN. When i started sleeping, it was all fine. Later i had this weird and bizare dream…

The dream goes like this….I have entered a house which doesnt have any way out….wonder how i got in :D

i remember the house, it was my aunty’s house in tambaram and we used to be their neighbours. Ok, back to my dream, after i enter the house, i see some weird ppl there and i have to somehow get out of that house. I got out from the 2nd floor, i guess through a small hole and now iam struck up in the first floor wondering how to get out of the house. I dont see any door to go out… and iam all tensed in this situation. Now i see a small hole in the first floor and wonder if i can get through that hole, weird huh!! :)

At this point i woke up and woke up with a bad headache. I was so stressed out too. I was getting ready for work but some thoughts were going around me. Was time and again thinking about the dream and the house that came in the dream. I was moody and had a weird feeling.

I got ready for work and stepped out to take the bart. Usually when i get out of the apartment, i like the cold breeze passes by my face. I feel really fresh…but today i didnt have that fresh feeling. On top of it, i had to run to catch the bart. Running increased my headache and by the time i stepped inside the bart, my head was aching like hell!! i hated myself for running in spite of the headache.

I then relaxed sometime in the bart and decided to take a small nap while the bart reaches SFO, since i had to get rid of the headache before i reach my office.  So finally i forced myself to take a small nap but i couldnt sleep much. After a very very small nap, i woke up when i reached my destination and figured that i got rid of the monster headache.

I reached my office and started  my work and slowly i started forgetting about the bizare dream that i had and came back to normal. However, i still wonder how i got this bizare dream….am i stressed out!?!  or am i trying to find some solution for some problem ?? i dont think so….

i always thought of reading some facts about dreams…coz i have heard that dreams generally reflect our lives. This made me think..what made me get a bizare dream!!

I hope i dont get such weird dreams from now on….lets see!!

hey all…am back after a long GAP….yeah i have been busy in GAP these days :-)

Its fall season here…and the weather is becoming unpredictable day by day. But i have been seeing fog and mist all over the place in the morning.

I take the BART(Bay area rapid transport) to work. i live in dublin and travel to san fransisco for work and its 1 hr long journey in BART. I dont regret doing it..coz i love the 1 hr journey since i can sleep, relax n read that time.

I have to tell you about the scenic route that the bart takes. especially the route between dublin and castro valley which is almost 10 miles is awesome. There are lot of small hills and lot of trees and grasses over he hills. Wow, wot a view and these days its foggy n misty to add more beauty too.

So when i get into the bart , i make sure that i take the window seat so that i can see the beauty. when the bart starts and i goes amidst the hills and mountains i feel like being in Ooty or kodai in India. wow its a great treat for my eyes. The funniest part is i usually doze off as soon as the bart starts and wake up when i reach SFO.  But these days, i make sure that i dont sleep in bart atleast in the morning. The view is so pleasant and soothing to watch.

sometimes its so foggy that i dont even see the cars on the highway which is just 50 feet away from the bart. and feel as if the bart is tearing down the fog and entering in….

I just love the morning scenic view….

Movie Nights!!

It has become a habit now that we watch movies almost every night. We recently bought a 42 inches Samsung TV and a Samsung Home theater. I was so against my husband not to buy the tv and the home theater. But now, more than my husband i have become so adicted to the TV and the home theater and my husband often teases me for that..he he he…. ;-)

Initially it started with getting a CD from the Indian Grocery. Dublin is the name of the place where we stay now. There are lot of Indians in Dublin and so we have lot of Indian Groceries too. So there is tradition in those groceries that if we buy Grocery for more than $20, we can rent a DVD for 2 days! So we started renting DVD’s from the Indian Grocery and since we had to return the CD in 2 days, we had to watch it the next day it self and hence started the Movie Nights.

Eventually my husband got a membership in the Dublin Public Library and we could rent dvd’s from the library too. So initially he was getting all English DVD’s but since i dont watch english movies, i never used to watch them. Slowly he started getting Hindi DVD’s also from the Library and then i started watching movies with him. We visited a friend of ours and got few DVD’s from them too :-)

So every night after i finish my household chores, we all sit together to watch the DVD’s that we have got and it is now becoming a habit of watching movies every night.

Sometimes, after my tiring work at office, i decide not to watch a movie and go to sleep asap.but as soon as i finish my household chores, i sit in the sofa and my hand automatically goes to the remote to switch on the TV :-)

But this habit is a great stress reliever! with all the stress n tension at work and at home, watching a good movie relieves us from all the stress (i can hear you saying, its a good excuse for watching movie..hehehe :-) )

As iam writing this blog, my husband is watching the movie for today!! I dont like this movie, a tamil movie by Karthik with a very bad screenplay!!

okie….catch you all tomorrow!!

Starbucks!!

I have never had the craze for coffee until i moved to San Fransisco early this year. I usually start my day with a fresh Coffee. But i never drink coffee in office neither after i return home.

I never used to like coffee in starbucks. I once got freshly brewed coffee when i was in Denver and OMG!! it was tasting just like “Kashayam” that i used to have when i was sick. From then on…i never drink coffee in Starbucks. But after i moved to San Fransisco(will be called SFO), i have developed this coffee craziness. Especially, I looooooooooove Cold Mocha and Cold Frapiccino!! My liking to starbucks started like this!! When i first moved to SFO, i decided to meet my close friend who used to study with me in my college. She was just 2 blocks away from my office. So i called her and we decided to meet each other after lunch since i was in a training, we couldnt go out for lunch.

So we met in a Cafe’ near her office. We were so excited coz we were meeting each other after 3 years now. Eventually she was just back from India after her wedding. After we met, she ordered for Cold Mocha, which i have never had and she ordered for Green Tea. That was the first time i had Mocha. MG!! it was so good and tasty :-) . I asked her abt wot Mocha was and she said its kind of Coffee+ Chocolate with Whipped Cream.

I wanted to taste Mocha again but since i was new to SFO, i couldn’t find the Cafe’ that my frnd took me to. But i didnt know that i can get Mocha in Starbucks too. In my initial days in the project, i had to attend lots of meetings the whole day and i used feel v v sleepy/tired towards the evening. I had this thoughtworks group attending meeting with me and they once called to have coffee with them. I decided to go with them for coffee eventhough i didnt like Starbucks. I entered starbucks and looked at the board where they had displayed all varieties of coffee. Alas, I found my Mocha there!! :-) whoohooo……. I ordered Mocha and i just loved it there! a lot better than the cafe i had my first Mocha.

My journey to starbucks started here. So i started going to Starbucks daily and used to get Mocha! it started with 1 mocha a day and then it started growing to 2 mochas a day. Initially i was enjoying the drink. I was telling my frnd abt my Mocha craze and she started pouncing at me. The statement from her was ” If u drink mocha daily with the whipped cream on it, soon you are going to become a barrel!! coz Mocha contains Whole Milk(for ppl who dont know, Whole Milk is the thickest milk that you can ever get with lot of Fat it it). So whole milk+whipped cream, imagine how much calorie it would add up to. Mocha was costlier too. One tall Mocha used to cost me $2.95, so 2 mochas, which came to $6 a day and for a month it adds to $180. OMG!! $180 for coffee is too much, is’nt it!! So i decided to quit Mocha…and i started doing it slowly. Reduced it to 1 a day and one good thing which made me quit mocha was Soymilk. My husband once got this Soymilk from a store and I started liking the taste of Soymilk too.

Soymilk is healthier and less in calorie too. So i started bringing Soymilk to office daily which stopped me going to Starbucks.

However, I have tried all kind of drinks in Starbucks and after Mocha, i like Cappaccino and Latte’

Even sometimes when i feel like having coffee, i go for cappaccino and not Mocha :-)

Since i like the coffee in Starbucks, my husband got me a Starbucks Card filled for $10. I used to enjoy using the Starbucks card. But i didnot refill the card after it was used since i wanted to reduce the intake of coffee.

So this is my story with Starbucks. Iam sure everyone enjoys the drink in Starbucks!! :)

Its been more than a year now since i moved to USA and i have been speaking to my parents back home frequently. However, i have developed the “HOMESICK” feeling lately. Especially the days when i speak to my mom and the affection in her voice makes me feel “I wish i could be with them now”.

I was speaking to my mom last week, when she was telling about the Dasavatharam movie that they had watched in satyam theater. My sister had taken them to this movie and after the movie, they had lunch in Saravanabhavan. They had a good time watching the movie and enjoying the lunch. My mom was even reciting abt the food they had in the restaurent. Though i was enjoying and making fun of my mom when she telling the whole story, in my heart i was feeling “I wish i could be with them!”.

I have my own family here and iam quite busy taking care of my family and my job. But amidst all the busy schedule ,  i always have a voice inside me telling “I wish I could be with them!”

Yesterday, i was seeing the fotos that my cousin took when she visited india. I was seeing the fotos of my lovable dad n mom and  tear just filled up my eyes.  I could so many changes happening to them. My dad has lost some weight and mom is getting more “white hairs”(shes going older). So my heart was pounding fast “I wish i could be with them!”.

But i dont let this feeling to my parents know coz this may upset them too.

With all the feelings in heart and mind iam just waiting for the day when i can see my parents!!

I hope i get my vacation and my visa extension in december so that i can see my beloved parents.

Anyways! i know this feeling will get out of my mind as soon i see them!!

See you all soon with a good, cheerful thought!! :-)
